White Tower

The White Tower is the most famous sightseeing in Thessaloniki. It is a point of reference for r locals and visitors. The White Tower was substantially remodeled and its exterior was whitewashed after Greece gained control of the city from the Turks in 1912. It has been adopted as the symbol of the city.In the 19th century it was a prison and nowadays it is a museum of art and history.
